As soon as I started, it became clear that the project needed a short, vibrant, and colorful video.

I went through four major edits of the cut, each time making it either longer or shorter until I found the right pace and rhythm.

For the color palette, I aimed for the rich, saturated look of printed magazines, so I did a significant part of the 2D work directly in CMYK color space.

I was lucky to find some high-quality shareware textures that helped me add extra detail and tactile feel.

Of course, many textures I drew completely by hand.

I began with research and development in 3D, but quickly realized the project wouldn’t stay purely three-dimensional.

This led to several strong concepts, and I decided to develop them all.

My final pipeline became: 3D → 2D → 3D → 2D — constantly jumping between dimensions to achieve the desired look.

I used AI to generate initial 3D models, then heavily modified and refined them in Blender.

This is the 3D setup I ended up using.

I wrote a custom shader that fills objects with color based on light sources — giving that bold, almost print-like illumination.

Compositing was done both in Blender and DaVinci Resolve.

Here you can see the work on one of the shots.

This part shows exactly how I handle the final pass when the camera is moving.

Finally, in DaVinci I color-graded each layer individually and created some effects (like the sky) directly in the node editor.
